Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Illinois Capital Region, Springfield, $4,870
To develop a computer lab for 400 Little Brothers/Sisters giving them an opportunity for computer access outside of school.

St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital, Effingham, $25,000
To assist in creating a Center for Advanced Imaging. 

Business Solutions Center - Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, $15,000
To expand youth activities and free counseling services, to promote capital development, and to partner with nonprofits to create a low interest revolving loan fund.

Illinois 4-H Foundation, Urbana, $15,000
To create new communication strategies that utilize technology to collect information.

Camp Care-A-Lot, Springfield, $10,000
To hire a facilitator to create strategic plans to guide the development and implementation of relevant programs, increase contributions, recruit volunteer staff and camp volunteers and increase and improve the Post High School Education Scholarship program for former campers still living in poverty.

Faith In Place, Chicago, $15,000
To create a Central Illinois Office in Champaign to engage area religious congregations in ecological stewardship. 

American Red Cross – Illinois Capital Area Chapter, Springfield, $7,400
To develop a sustainable volunteer management program.

Senior Citizens of Christian County, Taylorville, $5,323
To upgrade technology systems for programming areas.

Baby TALK, Decatur, $15,000
To develop a Professional Connection project to streamline service delivery and create the capacity for communication and exchange of resources among Baby TALK professionals.

The Little Theatre on the Square, Sullivan, $10,000
To hire a consultant to assist in the formation of a cooperative effort of theatre organizations in the region called COTO (Coalition of Theatre Organizations).

To hire a consultant to provide individualized consulting services and leadership training for key personnel and the organization’s new executive director.

The Wetlands Initiative, Chicago, $15,000
For the Illinois River Nutrient Farming Pilot Project, a demonstration and research site of the nutrient farming strategy, a market-based and environmentally efficient means to provide cleaner water in our rivers and streams. 

Illinois Stewardship Alliance, Springfield, $25,000
For the Buy Fresh Buy Local (BFBL) program across central Illinois which offers educational and marketing tools to the sustainable agriculture and local foods community.

Sustain/Family Farmed.org, Oak Park, $30,000
For the Market Development Program, a comprehensive approach to building local food systems.

Environmental Education Association of Illinois, Urbana, $5,000
For the Midwest Environmental Education Conference; an environmental professional development event attended by educators, natural resource professionals and community members at large. 

Ballard Nature Center, Altamont, $2,000
To create a Living Herbarium, a native Illinois flora interpretive garden that educates the center's visitors.

U of I Extension, Effingham, $2,000
For the Heron’s Down program, an environmental investigation involving 475 fifth grade students and their teachers in a hands-on experiential, inquiry-based investigation involving community stewardship.

Environmental Law & Policy Center, Chicago, IL, $50,000
To continue to provide legal and policy advocacy to implement more fully and effectively the letter and spirit of the Clean Water Act in Illinois.

Prairie Rivers Network, Champaign, IL, $40,000
To continue to restore and protect the rivers and water quality of East Central Illinois and empower local citizens to participate in that effort. 

Regional Grants

Art in the Schools, Albuquerque, NM, $25,000
To assist with funding for art education in the public school system.  This nationally recognized, non-profit program has reached thousands of students throughout New Mexico who would otherwise not have any visual art education.
 
Harwood Arts Center, Albuquerque, NM, $25,000
To give youth, adults and artists from the diverse community of New Mexico an opportunity to enrich their lives by experiencing and/or creating visual, performing and literary arts.

Working Classroom, Albuquerque, NM, $4,700
To support efforts to provide training, stipends and professional performance/exhibit opportunities to 50 talented, underachieving, low-income middle and high school students.

Albuquerque Youth Symphony Program, Inc., Albuquerque, NM, $8,116
To support their Financial Assistance Program to allow every eligible child to participate in their program despite financial hardship.

Amigos Bravos, Albuquerque, NM, $3,616
To help fund the Youth Water Quality Monitoring Project which provides hands-on field experience and cross-disciplinary classroom learning to high school students.

Chautauqua Striders, Inc., Silver Creek, NY, $8,116
To consolidate their mentoring programs and conduct an evaluation to determine the viability of expanding the overall program.

Oak Park & River Forest Children’s Chorus, Oak Park, IL $6,310
To employ an Opportunity Awareness Coordinator to assist the chorus in outreaching to new singers in populations underserved by programs in vocal music. 

Silvermine Guild Arts Center, New Canaan, CT, $2,500
To support the Art Partners program which brings teaching artists into the classrooms of urban public schools and offers a  Friday evening program for teens. 

Need in Deed, Philadelphia, PA, $8,116
To work with 40 Philadelphia Public School teachers to help them integrate service-learning into classroom curriculum for 1,100 students in grades 3-8.

Students Rising Above, San Francisco, CA, $5,000
To support its Mentoring for College Success program which aims to increase college attendance and graduation rates for disadvantaged Bay Area youth. 

Young Imaginations, San Rafael, CA, $3,116
To support multicultural music/dance classes for 150 students at two culturally diverse public schools in San Francisco.
